Visit HPS/MAG Grant Recipient Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge

Join us for a private tour of two-time HPS Grant recipient Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge. We will see the work HPS Grant funding has supported to purchase the pollinator plants for a new pollinator garden and educational signage, mounting and modeling components, and to purchase native pineland species plants and educational signage for the Wildlife Housing Area.

We will be treated to a guided tour of the resident animal area which houses hawks, owls, raccoon, and skunk, and enjoy a short up-close animal program.

Everyone is invited to bring their lunch and to explore the grounds on their own including hiking the ½-mile trail around Cedar Run Lake.

Cedar Run is a 171-acre non-profit wildlife refuge, wildlife rehabilitation hospital, and nature center on the edge of the New Jersey Pinelands. Cedar Run includes the Woodford Nature Center, a Wildlife Housing Area with nearly 60 native residents, and a Wildlife Rehabilitation Hospital that sees more than 6,000 wild animals each year. The overall mission of Cedar Run is to serve as a community resource on the importance of protecting and enhancing healthy ecosystems for all.

Members and nonmembers are welcome. Cost is $5 for members, $10 for nonmembers. Registration required. Registration fees will be donated to the Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge. Maximum number of attendees is 15. HPS/MAG COVID-19 PRACTICES AND POLICIES: All HPS/MAG In-Person Events shall be subject to all COVID-related requirements imposed by any state, local and/or federal agency. Guests and invitees should apprise themselves of any such requirements prior to attendance. All HPS/MAG In-Person Events shall also be subject to the COVID-related requirements, if any, of the garden host. All attendees must bring a mask for every In-Person Event, in case it is required.
