HPS Springtime Trip to Virginia and North Carolina

 They say “Virginia is for Lovers,” but we say Virginia, and North Carolina, are for passionate gardeners! So why not join us for a six-day VA/NC springtime garden adventure! The fun begins on Monday with a visit to Monticello Website for a tour and to check out where and how Thomas Jefferson lived back in 1772.  We will be staying the first night in Charlottesville, VA at Courtyard by Marriott Charlottesville – University Medical Center. Tuesday morning we will travel to Charlotte, North Carolina for a two-night stay. During our time there we will see spring at its finest in numerous private gardens: Inta Kromholtz’s garden, Maple Walk Garden, Serenity Gardens, and a several more private gardens. For the two nights in Charlotte, our hotel will be the Embassy Suites by Hilton – Charlotte Uptown. Hotel Website

Thursday will be the shopping day with visits to Big Bloomers Flower Farm Website and Plant Delights Nursery Website.  At Plant Delights we will have a tour of their world class research facility and the Juniper Level Botanic Garden. However, because early May is such a busy time, we will not be able to shop during our time at Plant Delights. But, you will be able to pre-order plants and pick them up that day. Thursday night we will stay in downtown Raleigh at the Raleigh Marriott City Center. Website Insert

Leaving Raleigh on Friday we start our trip home – but not before we stop at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens. Website  A tram tour and boat tour have been organized for our visit. On Friday night, our hotel will be the Hampton Inn North in Virginia Beach. Website  Every hotel room will have a view of the ocean – the perfect setting to see the sun rise.

Saturday will be our final day, but we will have one more stop in Delaware. We will visit the fairly new Delaware Botanic Gardens Website and have a guided tour of the gardens. Website Insert We will arrive back in West Chester in time for dinner Saturday night.

Cost of the tour is $1395.00 for shared accommodations; $1995.00 for single accommodations.

The cost of the trip includes round trip motor coach transportation, all hotel accommodations, all breakfasts and lunches, garden admissions, and the bus driver’s gratuity. Not included are dinners and your personal shopping.
