Woody Plants from Softwood Cuttings –
A Hands-On Propagation Workshop with Steven Kristoph
Think about that shrub in your garden that wows you year after year as it bursts into bloom. Wouldn’t it be nice to have another specimen just like it to add to your landscape, or to give to a friend? Learn how to make it happen at this hands-on workshop.
Attendees will learn the technique of propagating woody landscape plants for their garden from softwood cuttings. All materials will be supplied by Steven Kristoph. Propagating media, rooting hormone, trays with cells, and plant material of special and unique landscape plants, including several native species, will be provided. You will be working in a covered open-air greenhouse.
The cuttings you prepare will be placed in a propagation greenhouse for the summer. Attendees will come back in late August to either take their rooted cuttings home in the trays or have the option to pot them up into larger pots and take them home that way.
