"Guided Tour of Jenkins Arboretum"

We are delighted to offer a guided tour of Jenkins Arboretum, a 2021 recipient of a Hardy Plant Society Grant. The tour will include a walk through the garden to see the beautiful collections. Though late for peak azaleas, there will still be some, as well as Rhododendrons and maybe even a few mountain laurels. We will also take you “behind the scenes”, into some of the non-public areas of the Arboretum. This will include a walk to the Browning property where we are creating a pollinator meadow, as well as the Jenkins House which offers spectacular views of Valley Forge Park and beyond. We will tell you the story of how the gardens came to be and how we settled on Ericaceae as our major collection.

Maximum of 12 participants. Tour guide will be Steve Wright, Director of Horticulture / Curator of Plant Collections.

Members and non-members welcome. Price is $13/person which is nonrefundable if canceled after May 21, unless filled from waitlist. Rain date is May 26th, same times. Click here to register. Registration ends at midnight on May 21st.

Others are welcome to come as well for a self-guided walk through the gardens. No registration is required for the self-guided walk. The Garden Shop will be open for anyone who might like to shop.

Please note: We will follow the CDC guidelines for COVID-19. All current CDC measures in place will be strictly adhered to, including masks and social distancing.

Additionally, every registrant must sign a Coronavirus Waiver prior to attending this event. Click here for the waiver. If possible, please download a copy of the waiver, sign it and bring it with you to the event. The event coordinator will have extra copies available for registrants that need them.
