The challenges our planet faces in the wake of climate change and globalization are so enormous that it can be ea sy to feel helpless. However, the way we think and act on the landscape can lead to significant impact if we work together as a community. George Coom bs, Director of Horticulture at Mt. Cuba Center, will propose a new horticu ltural paradigm for the 21st century that seeks to build a more resilient n ature, both in your backyard and beyond.
George Coombs is the Directo r of Horticulture at Mt. Cuba Center (mtcubacenter.org), a public garden de dicated to promoting native plants and sustainable landscape practices, whe re he oversees all aspects of the gardens and grounds. In previous roles at Mt. Cuba, George has conducted trial garden research on numerous genera, i ntroduced new cultivars to the nursery trade, and published a report on the availability of native plants in the Mid-Atlantic.
