But perhaps you’d also like more color indoors during the long wint er months. If you want to go beyond just growing a holiday amaryllis, sign up for this presentation by Catherine Horgan, HPS member and Master Gardene r of Mercer County, New Jersey. You’ll come away with the inspiration and k now-how for filling your home with bright colors and pleasing scents this w inter. You may even find yourself considering entering your creations in a flower show. As a blue-ribbon winner at the world-famous Philadelphia Flowe r Show, Catherine is the perfect person to guide you.
Catherine will discuss a variety of bulbs for forcing and ho w to use them to create beautiful displays for your home or for entering in to a show. Learn where to buy bulbs, how to choose bulbs and pots, and how to plant, care for, and stake your plants. You’ll find yourself surrounded by fabulous blooms weeks before they appear in your garden. And if you stil l want to grow that holiday amaryllis, Catherine will show pictures of her blue-ribbon-winning amaryllises and share her expertise how best to grow th em.
