HPS/MAG Trip to New York City Gardens

Join us for an overnight trip to the Big Apple and see four of New York City’s most celebrated gardens – Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Untermyer Gardens, and Wave Hill.

Thursday, August 15

Untermyer Gardens:  After our arrival on Thursday morning, we will have a guided tour of Untermyer, a 43-acre public garden overlooking the Hudson River. HPS/MAG visited this garden back in 2021 and it will be interesting to see the progress that’s been made on the ongoing restoration of this historic garden. 

Wave Hill: This 28-acre garden in the Bronx, also overlooking the Hudson, is our afternoon destination.  We will start our visit with lunch, followed by a tour of the gardens.

Fairfield Inn & Suites Midtown Manhattan: This will be our hotel for the night. It is conveniently located for hitting the town for dinner or a play Thursday night.  Breakfast will be complimentary the next morning.

Friday, August 16

Brooklyn Bridge Park:  In the morning, explore this 85-acre world class waterfront park with rolling hills, riverfront promenades, lush gardens, and spectacular city views. Rashid Paulson spoke at the Perennial Conference in October and was very enthusiastic about this industrial-space-to-park project.

Brooklyn Botanic Gardens:  Friday lunch and afternoon will be spent touring the gardens on your own, lunch in their cafe. 

Cost & Registration

The cost of this trip is $445.00 double occupancy and $585.00 single occupancy.  The cost includes:

• round trip transportation via motor coach to/from New York & around NYC
• one night’s hotel accommodation
• all garden entry fees, and tours (where applicable)
• lunches both days
• breakfast Friday morning
• bus driver’s tip.

Not included:

• Thursday evening’s dinner and entertainment
• any additional room charges.

This trip is for Members Only. Registration is required, with full payment at the time of registration. Maximum number of travelers is 38. A waitlist will be available if needed.
