Stop and Smell the Roses:Wyck Historic Home and Rose Garden Tour
Wyck House, in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, was the ancestral home to nine generations of a family of Philadelphia Quakers, from 1690 to 1973. Today, Wyck is a National Historic Landmark house, garden, and farm. Wyck is perhaps best known to gardeners for its Rose Garden. This is the oldest rose garden in our area, dating back to the 1820’s.
Join Wyck’s Rosarian for a special exploration and guided tour of America’s oldest original plan Rose Garden in full bloom. You are invited to tour the first floor of the historic house museum, enjoy the enchantment of antique roses at their peak fragrance, and savor light refreshments, including Wyck's Rose Macaroons.
Open to members and non-members. Registration is required. $12 for members, $17 for nonmembers. Maximum number of attendees is 20.
