Members' Garden Tour

The 2022 Members Garden Tour held on Saturday, June 25th, in Chestnut Hill, Fort Washington, and Wyndmoor was a great success. 200 Members enjoyed 6 private garden tours, a plant give-away, and a wonderful reception. Join us next year when we explore another HPS/MAG Mid-Atlantic region.

Many thanks to Dawn and her team for all their hard work!

About the Members' Garden Tour

The annual Members' Garden Tour is the highlight of our summer. The tour is organized by the Vice-President, and planning begins months in advance. The tour typically includes four - five private gardens, with a reception following at the last garden on the tour. Many of the garden owners are HPS/MAG members. Some of the locations we have visited include West Chester, Berks County, Bucks County, Wilmington, Delaware, Media, and many sections of Philadelphia.

Advance registration is required. The tour is free for members only; guests are welcome, but are required to join HPS/MAG at the first house that they visit.

Volunteers are needed for the following committees:

Planning. Assist the Vice-president is identifying potential gardens, visiting sites, coordinating with homeowners, mapping the route, and identifying adequate parking.

Signage. Placing signs before the tour begins and picking them up afterwards.

Garden Greeters. Recruit and schedule garden greeters at each garden. Ensure that a check-in table and chairs are available. Provide greeters with attendance sheets, ID bracelets, pens, water, etc.

Reception. Work with a caterer or staff at the reception site to plan the menu. Coordinate set up and take down.

Raffle. Solicit raffle items, recruit ticket sellers, arrange the raffle table and provide raffle tickets to the sellers. Distribute items to the winners.
