HPS/MAG Annual Meeting and Lecture
Guest Speaker – Barbara Melera:  "Species Tulips"
A Hybrid (In-Person & Virtual) Event

Per our HPS/MAG Bylaws, we will have a brief 30-minute business meeting that includes State of the Organization, Finances, Vote for 2026 Board Candidates, and Recognition Awards. The lecture will follow. The meeting will conclude no later than 3:00 pm.

Are deer a problem, but tulips in your spring garden are a must-have? Species Tulips are an exquisite solution. Rarely seen, these magnificent spring-blooming flowers are the progenitors of our modern-day tulips.

Time to think SPRING! This is a detailed lecture designed to introduce/remind you of the bulbs that can populate your garden with beautiful blossoms and feed the newly awakened pollinators throughout the spring. The Species Tulips are some of the original wild tulips. Under cultivation in a home garden, they produce extraordinary color combinations, height variation, “behaviors,” and season-long entertainment for a loving gardener. They are critter-resistant too, not just pollinator-friendly. In fact, they are pollinator-essential plants. This lecture is beautifully illustrated with photos and there is a free bulb gift for each in-person attendee.

In addition, Barbara will have species tulip bulbs available for purchase at the program.
