Spring Bulb Extravaganza at Northview Garden – with Jenny Rose Carey

Join us for another opportunity to visit Northview in all its April glory. Northview is the garden of Jenny Rose Carey, author, educator, and speaker. Jenny Rose Carey has always loved growing bulbs, and in her garden at Northview, she grows many of them. She has created a series of dry, gravel, and rock gardens to showcase these treasures. In this spring visit, there will be an assortment of daffodils, fritillaries, and species tulips – all dependent on the spring weather.

This visit is tied to the publication by Timber Press of Jenny Rose Carey's latest book, The Essential Guide to Bulbs (October 2025).

Wear garden attire for this rain or shine walk around, followed by coffee and tea in the Carriage House.

Jenny Rose Carey is a renowned gardener, educator, historian, author, and former senior director at Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s Meadowbrook Farm, Jenkintown, PA. She previously worked at Temple University for more than a decade, first as an adjunct professor for the Dept. of Landscape Architecture and Horticulture, then as director of the Ambler Arboretum of Temple University, and she has been lecturing nationally and internationally for many years.

Jenny is an avid hands-on gardener who has gardened in both England and the United States. Her Victorian property, Northview, contains diverse garden spaces, including a cutting garden, an herb garden, a dry garden, and various mixed flower beds. Jenny and her gardens have been featured on the PBS series The Victory Garden, in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Philadelphia Inquirer, Grow magazine and The Pennsylvania Gardener.

Northview Garden was originally part of the Lenni Lenape tribal lands. There is also some evidence that the land was part of a route of the Underground Railroad to free slaves. The property was purchased by Jenny and her husband in 1997 and has been enhanced constantly since that time.

In addition to The Essential Guide to Bulbs, Jenny is the author of The Ultimate Flower Gardener’s Guide and Glorious Shade, all published by Timber Press. All three books will be available for purchase and signing.

Northview is a garden not to be missed. And Jenny is an enthusiastic and inspirational teacher. Don’t let this special opportunity pass you by!
