“The Creation of Calder Gardens” Speaker: Erin Monda
Calder Gardens is Philadelphia’s newest art institution dedicated to Alexander Calder and is conceived as a place where an evolving interplay between art, architecture, nature, and programming encourages contemplation and self-discovery. Join Erin Monda for an exploration of the gardens designed by Piet Oudolf. Learn about Oudolf’s design, plant highlights and combinations, the construction process, and management of the garden.
Speaker Bio: Erin Monda is the Horticulture Manager at Calder Gardens, overseeing all aspects of the landscape. Before joining Calder Gardens, she spent over six years at Morris Arboretum & Gardens, where she served as Section Horticulturist and later Lead Horticulturist, managing and designing a wide range of gardens and managing day-to-day operations. Erin holds a dual Master of Science in Nonprofit Leadership and Master of Environmental Studies from the University of Pennsylvania.
This Zoom program is free to all HPS/MAG Members. $15 for Non-members. Registration is required. This event will be recorded and will be available for registrants to watch for just 2 weeks following the lecture.
Registration will open November 15th. The deadline to register is January 17th.
