Hardy Winter Flowers at Hedgleigh Spring with Charles Cresson
Charles will guide us through his private garden, Hedgleigh Spring, to learn about the amazing array of flowers that actually bloom during the cold seasons of the year. Learn how to grow them, and how to best place them to enhance the twigs, bark, and evergreens in your winter landscape with real flowers.Be prepared to find yourself adding items to your spring shopping list of must-have perennials, and to your fall shopping list for bulbs. Charles Cresson is an avid gardener, plantsman, lecturer, consultant, and author. He studied horticulture in America and England, worked for the Royal Horticultural Society and has worked in many of our local public gardens. His family garden, Hedgleigh Spring, is an early 20th Century flower garden with an extensive plant collection and it includes areas specifically designed to highlight winter bloom. Charles is the award-winning author of three books: Charles Cresson on the American Flower Garden, Ornamental Trees, and Rock Gardening.
