Guided Tour at Morris Arboretum & Gardens: Great Trees

 

The guided tours at the Morris offered by HPS/MAG since January 2022 have been popular events with our members. A special collaboration with the Morris Arboretum & Gardens allows us to offer docent-guided tours throughout the year focused on specialty topics not often offered.

 

Explore the extraordinary beauty of Morris Arboretum captured in the collection of its Great Trees. Great Trees means more than size! They are remarkable specimens of historical, environmental, or unique-shaped species. The variety of the arboretum’s great trees is found in its champion trees, trees over 100 years old, trees from far-away places, and native trees that provide habitat for insects and other local wildlife.

 

This newly revised tour will take you to the far reaches of the arboretum so please wear off-path walking shoes. After the 1.5 hour tour, you will be able to wander at your leisure to the other areas of the gardens.

 

Tour participants are encouraged to bring a camera to capture the artistic nature of the trees.

Attendees:

Open to HPS/MAG Members only. HPS/MAG membership covers two people in a household. To register the second person in your household, use the "Register Guest" option.

Maximum number of attendees is 15. There will be a waitlist.

Cost:

$10 per person

Registration:

Opens on August 5, after 8 p.m. Closes on September 11.

Additional Details:

Please gather at the Welcome Center and be prepared to walk "off path" around the arboretum. Wear walking or hiking shoes and dress for the weather. If raining lightly, please bring an umbrella.

The arboretum’s hours are 10 AM - 5 PM. Tour attendees may arrive early or stay after the tour to further explore the arboretum.

The gift shop and restrooms will be open.
