“Trick or Trough” – Create a Container Crevice Garden:

A Hands-On Workshop with Louise Clarke

Join HPS member Louise Clarke for a hands-on workshop to create a crevice-style container garden. A crevice garden mimics natural rock formations with spaces between rocks where plants that like perfect drainage can thrive. Upright rocks with narrow spaces between them will be arranged and planted in a container you supply. The potting medium is green roof soil, a mostly lean mix of mineral particles from sand to ¼” gravel. To make crevices, any stone can be used; the workshop will supply some slate and Wissahickon schist, both of which are native to Pennsylvania.

Please bring your own container; specific details will come in the confirmation email. Workshop includes soil/medium for plants, and suitable stones, or bring your own. A selection of alpine plants will be available for purchase at a discount of 10% during the workshop.

Your instructor will provide individual attention and step-by-step instructions.

Dress for messy fun!
