A Visit to the McCabe’s Beeautiful Garden

HPS has brought you numerous presentations, both virtual and in person, this past winter and spring that reinforced the importance of making our gardens a haven for our creature friends – insects, bees, birds, reptiles, and other wildlife. Now it’s time to visit a beautiful garden where the homeowners are practicing what we’ve been preaching.

Maria and John McCabe have created an organic, pollinator friendly garden in Glenmoore, Pa. Over the years, they have added mostly native plants to diversify the original plantings. Gravel paths lead to a variety of gardens which include vegetables, herbs, a woodland garden, plus a mix of many other plantings. The greenhouse is used to overwinter herbs and for seed starting.

While in Glenmoore, you may enjoy shopping for plants and antiques at nearby Cricket’s Antiques and Garden Market, 1641 Horseshoe Pike, West Brandywine Township, PA 19343.
