Triple Oaks is a family-owned, full-service garden center (and florist), established in 1977. Private Garden Descriptions:

Diane’s Garden in Collingswood, NJ

This incredible cottage garden on a small footprint is meticulously designed and very well kept. It is home to a variety of low maintenance, mostly native plants that are a magnet for butterflies, birds, and especially, hummingbirds.

In Diane’s words: The garden developed through decades of contributions from friends, neighbors, family, and our favorite local nurseries. Trial, error, and annual adjustments culminated in what we like to call our cultivated jungle. We recently realized that trying to grow grass was a futile effort. Our passion for trees and shade led us to embrace an approach that maximized meandering gravel paths developed by years of our Westies' paws having free rein of the backyard. We created places to sit and take in the garden's views with groupings of potted coleus, salvia, jasmine and more.

As the summer progresses, so does the fragrant aroma and hummingbird visitors. Our trees range from spring flowering Dogwood, Redbud, and Malus to the interesting barks of the Ironwood, Crape Myrtle, and Birch. We have soft spots for Amsonia, Hydrangea, Hosta, Coral Bells, Baptisia, and Viburnum. Our goal was to create a welcoming place to relax and appreciate our backyard wildlife.

Mitzi’s Garden in West Deptford, NJ

Mitzi has taken a very personal approach in the design of her landscape. There are several gardens in the backyard; each garden was planted to honor a member of her family that has passed away. One garden’s focal point is a beautiful Edgeworthia. There is one with different color winterberry hollies and an assortment of plants that bear fruit for wildlife. This is an all-season garden which has something in bloom all 12 months of the year. In the center of the yard is a small meadow that is loaded with pollinators throughout the year. Be sure to check out the wall of the patio adorned with pots of bog garden plants.
