Join fellow HPS members and friends for a day in rural New Jersey for a lecture, garden tour, shopping and homemade luncheon. Located in the picturesque mountains of Warren County, NJ, Well-Sweep is a family farm and home to one of the largest collections of herbs and perennials in the country. Germinating from the seed of a handed-down tradition and hobby – to a business that has flourished, with 2019 marking their 50th year. Raising and breeding plants from around the globe, from Acanthus to Zatar, their selections span the familiar, the unusual, the rare and the exotic. This season they are introducing 104 intriguing new plants to their collection of more than 1,898 varieties. Whether you’re a collector, designer, dabbler or windowsill gardener … Well-Sweep hopes to arouse the curiosity of you all!

Herb Garden Tour

Join Patrick McDuffee on a tour of Well Sweep’s vast collection of herbs and perennials in their impressive culinary, medicinal and formal herb gardens; also visit the gift shop and farm animals. The tour will include the history, uses and cultivation of herbs, as well as herbal recipe suggestions.

Lecture: Funky, Far-out and Fabulous Plants

Owner David Hyde shares the coolest plants from the farm’s vast collection - featuring favorite classics, the unusual as well as the rare. Explore their uniqueness and how to provide them with the proper conditions for your success as well as growing tips and tricks.

Luncheon - A delicious, homemade, herb-infused luncheon is included. Make your choices at the time of registration.

Please arrive promptly at 9:45 as this is a time sensitive program. Registration is complete when payment is received. 

There will be plenty of time to shop, be sure to have space in your cars.
