About Bellsflower Farm

Ruth Ann Mummey and her husband bought their property in 1995, 100 acres of bare fields, you'd never guess that now. You may have seen her garden featured in Fine Gardening magazine both last April as a Garden Picture Of the Day and this April where a full length article on her Spring garden was featured. We will visit Ruth's garden where she will give a guided tour through her Hydrangea and Crepe Myrtle collection.

'I like hydrangeas for so many reasons. They bloom for a very long period, the change in color as they mature adds so much interest to the garden and their honey colored blooms soften the winter landscape. The varieties are limitless and the new introductions are exciting to look forward to.
I was introduced to crepe myrtles in Charlotte, SC, allees of them, so magical. A friend opened a new garden center and I couldn't resist buying both Tonto and Hopi even though I was told we couldn't grow them in our climate. Well, they have done so well even with our hilltop zone 6 (6b now) setting. My garden is centered around flowering plants because of my love for color.'  - Ruth Ann Mummey.
