"Don’t Skip the Skippers"

Join Teresa Knipper for an informative and engaging program about the "Little Brown Jobs" of the butterfly world that you will find are often not so little and not always brown!! Skipper butterflies undoubtedly grace your garden, and she will give you information on spotting and identifying these beautiful creatures. You certainly will not want to skip this event!

Teresa L. Knipper has been gardening for butterflies for 20 years. She is a Master Gardener in Mercer County, New Jersey. She enjoys teaching homeowners how to create butterfly gardens in their home landscape and also leads local butterfly walks. Teresa is a member of the North American Butterfly Association and has traveled across the US to see butterflies, but Cape May, New Jersey is one of her favorite haunts especially when Monarchs are migrating in late September. She credits her enthusiasm for butterflies to Patricia Sutton, former Program Director of the Cape May Bird Observatory. "Pat taught me that if you really learn about butterflies and their life cycle you can be really successful in gardening for these beautiful creatures."

Questions can be submitted via chat box and will be read to the speaker by the HPS/MAG moderator. Please note that all participants will be muted for the duration of the event.
