Tour the Trees of Arader Farm
in Collegeville, PA

This is a return visit to Arader Farm. We last visited on a hot September morning in 2023. Despite the heat, it was hard to leave on time because we saw so many awesome specimens, and everyone had questions. Join us – again, or for the first time – as we hop on the hay wagon and tour the trees of Arader Farm!

If you are a “tree geek” or just want to see a wonderful collection of rare conifers, and large-sized shade and ornamental trees, this is the tour for you. While much of the property is a working Christmas Tree Farm, the Arader’s have dedicated and transformed approximately 15+ acres of the farm for the Arader Tree Service to grow trees for the trade. They have a combination of nursery and arboretum like settings where friends and customers can envision what the trees would look like in a home like setting. A few of the trees grown are specimen sized Weeping Norway Spruce, Oriental Spruce cultivars, 25-foot-tall Umbrella Pines and many other mature specimens not commonly found.

The tour will be guided by John Vebrugge, Vice President of Arader Tree Service and a Delaware Valley University Alumnus. He has located and hand-picked many of the plants in the collection.

Even if you visited Arader Farm with us last year, the collection of trees is always turning over as they make their way to their forever homes throughout the region. There is always something new to be seen! And the farm itself is lovely.

The Arader Farm Story:

In 2021 Chris and Paige Arader purchased this working Christmas Tree farm located in Collegeville PA. The farm dates to the late 1700’s and the farmhouse was built circa 1802. There are 90 acres of conserved land with a 1-acre pond.

The farm is family-oriented for Christmas and Fall season activities. Each year they plant thousands of Christmas tree seedlings and are actively growing pumpkins, corn for a corn maze, and flowers to cut for the fall season.

The Arader’s have been avid gardeners and lovers of trees their entire life. Chris Arader, established Arader Tree Service after graduating with a degree in Landscape Architecture in 1979. Since then, he has had the honor of servicing clients in the greater Philadelphia area.
